a picture is worth a thousand words, but words are worth?
So, this is supposed to be primarily a photo blog, however, I do like to do some writing from time to time. I used to use MySpace as a forum to share my writing, but since I rarely go on that site anymore, I'm going to start posting things here.
This is an old poem I recently re-discovered. I wrote it almost a year ago to the day (minus 4 days).
After spending the early part of the afternoon looking for deals at Safeway and trying to plan recipes for the week, I feel like it really resonates today in particular:
""
you get older.
and you review the seemingly urgent matters of the past.
and you realize that your daily trip to buy broccoli and toilet paper and debating about whether your should have tofu or splurge for chicken make for incredibly boring stories but that you are comforted in a way you've never felt.
you are no longer constantly on code red or even on code orange. more like code mauve.
and you feel more like making your own garden than making out in the park.
and some part of you feels wistful for the chaos.
but most of you (i mean me) feels happy just to fall asleep.
