Colombia
Julian and I went to Colombia for 2 weeks at the end of March/beginning of April.
It was a trip for many purposes.
Julian had not been back to the country he was born in since 1989. He had not seen his father for much longer than that. Julian recently became a US citizen with a renewed passport. We moved in together this year. I have never been to South America.
It just seemed to be the right time to take a big trip together.
We spent the first week in the chilly, lush interior of the country. A night and full day in Bogota. A day in Ibague with his Dad and stepsister. A couple of days with wonderful, warm, fun cousins in Santa Rosa. A day at the amazing San Vincente natural hot springs an hour outside of Santa Rosa. Lots of long scenic bus rides interspersed.
The second week we flew up to the coast for some sun and vacation-y vacation. Our original plan was to fly into Cartagena and then jump off to a couple of more remote beaches and parks from there. However, once we discovered the Getsemani part of the city and found a hotel with a pool, we just decided to stay put.
Here are a few photos from the trip...
